Residents of Manyatta B ward will now reduce the time they spent fetching water after KIWASCO and Water Services Trust Fund (WSTF) came together to improve supply in the area. WSTF funded the project to the tune of 12million whilst KIWASCO will implement and maintain it. The residents on the other hand will manage the water kiosks that will be built as a result of this project and those who are able will connect piped water to their houses.

He went ahead to inform the gathering that the project is intended to serve 5000 households, an equivalent of 35,000 residents. The chairman on the other hand informed the residents that they will be put on affordable tariff of which they can comfortably pay. He also assured the residents that labour and some of the materials that will be used in the construction will be acquired locally, in a bid to foster mutual relationship between the community and the company.
